São Paulo governor hopeful used AI in an Instagram post

Fernando Haddad, São Paulo governor hopeful, used artificial intelligence to promote his candidacy. A video posted on his official Instagram account shows a crowd of people gathering around him on Paulista Avenue in an attempt to represent the number of students who benefitted from Prouni, a public scholarship program created by him while he was minister of education. “Prouni transformed the lives of millions. More than numbers, there are stories and lives transformed”, reads the caption.

The video has signs of synthetic media, such as a plasticized appearance, blurred faces and robotic movements. Furthermore, the politician highlighted the use of technology in text over images.
