Brazil’s Electoral Justice Court (TSE) used AI in an Instagram post. In the content, the electronic voting machine mascot, Pilili, appears in a soccer stadium alongside fans wearing Brazilian national team jerseys.

The post is part of a “trend”— a viral content phenomenon on Brazilian social media — that inserts individuals into simulated soccer match broadcasts using artificial intelligence.

The Court signaled the use of this technology via the post’s caption, which reads: “Joining the trend, too—because who better to cheer for Brazil than the one who makes Brazilian democracy happen! 🏆 🤖 This content was generated using artificial intelligence (AI).”

However, there is no indication whatsoever within the images themselves, which could circulate without this context.
