Social media posts use artificial intelligence to simulate a U.S. invasion of Brazil. A video posted on X depicts bombings in Brasília and Rio de Janeiro, as well as the arrest of President Lula and Supreme Federal Court justices by American military forces. “After Venezuela and Iran, the time has come for Uncle Sam to bring democracy to Brazilian soil,” states the narration, while fighter jets fire missiles at the National Congress and Supreme Federal Court buildings. “For your delight,” reads the caption, in Portuguese.
The video has synthetic characteristics such as plastic aspects of the images. Besides that, some frames feature watermarks from various image generation tools, such as Gemini and Veo 3.
