Politician publishes AI generated video that shows Lula crying over Ali Khamenei’s death

Deputy Mário Frias (PL-SP) used artificial intelligence to criticize Lula after Ali Khamenei’s death. A video published in his official Instagram account shows the Brazilian president crying while holding a picture of the Iranian leader. “The Iranian people celebrate freedom. But Lula is probably saddened by the loss of yet another ‘comrade'”, says the caption.

The video has synthetic characteristics such as plasticized aspects and inconsistencies in Lula’s appearance – who has ten fingers on his hands when in fact the president only has nine due to a work accident. The politician, however, did not signal the use of technology.
